My capstone explores the ways in which teaching English as a Second Language can be used to foster resilience, emotional literacy, and self-confidence in Elementary learners in community school settings. The work is designed for use in alternative-learning contexts in West Java, Indonesia, but can be adapted for alternative-learning environments in other locations or traditional ESL classrooms. The work comprises a three month curriculum that engages Multiple Intelligence Theory, Experiential Learning, and the Incremental Theory of Intelligence.
